Padding with elastic bands top and bottom to hold them in place, made to absorb impacts and take the edge off working in awkward places.
Most people buy them for the garage rather than for the car. Anyone who has spent a day leaning over a wing or lying under a car knows that elbows take a beating on hard edges, and a pair of these turns a job you are counting down through into one you can finish properly.
The other use
Karting. In a kart the cockpit is narrow and your elbows are against the sides through every corner, and over a race distance that leaves marks. Junior drivers in particular tend to come out of a kart with bruised elbows, and pads solve it.
They are also worn in some off road and rally disciplines where the cabin is tight and rough.
Fitting
They pull on and the elastic bands hold them. Worn under a suit or over it depending on preference and on what your regulations say, and worth checking that if you are competing rather than practising.

Will this work with my kit?
It is made to work across the racewear in our range, not just its own brand. If you are pairing it with a specific suit, helmet, or device, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit before you order.
How do I look after it?
Keep it clean and dry, wash or wipe gently where the material allows, and skip bleach and fabric softener anywhere near fire-resistant fabrics. Ask us if you are unsure about a specific material.
