Four Stilo Nexus helmet connections cover most racing boat crews, and the dual communications capability is what separates this unit from the rest of the offshore line. VHF marine radio routes through the wiring loom, so shore communications come through the helmets without a separate PTT button arrangement. Bluetooth adds a phone or device connection for data, timing feeds or direct calls with race management, running alongside the VHF at the same time.
Running both VHF and Bluetooth from a single unit simplifies the wiring and keeps the cockpit cleaner. The sealed aluminium housing handles the marine environment, and boat power supplies the unit, removing the battery-management problem on longer offshore events.
Where the DB0202 wins over this unit is crew count: the DB0202 handles six helmets with VHF but no Bluetooth. For crews of four or fewer who want both VHF and a Bluetooth device in the same system, the DB0203 is the right unit.
