A practice headset for Stilo’s WRC intercom system, part number SLOAD0210.
This headset connects to a Stilo WRC 03 (SLOAB0200) or ST30 amplifier using the WRC connector format. The WRC connector is different from the Trophy connector, so this headset is not compatible with a Trophy 2 amplifier. If you are upgrading from Trophy to WRC electronics, both the headset and the amplifier need to change at the same time.
The earcups fold inward for storage, which matters in a car where space between stages is limited. The microphone is a magnetic-dynamic noise-cancelling boom on an adjustable mount. The boom needs to sit with the microphone right in front of your lips rather than pointing toward your chin; noise cancellation works by comparing what is close to the mouth against what is not, and an incorrectly positioned microphone does the work of a standard mic instead of a noise-cancelling one.
At £154, this sits £36 above the Trophy headset (SLOAD0110). The difference is noise attenuation and the WRC connector. WRC electronics are specified for louder environments: R5 and WRC-spec turbos, high-downforce circuit cars, or any car where Trophy electronics would leave the co-driver struggling to hear pace notes over the engine and tyre noise. In a quieter club car, the Trophy headset with the Trophy 2 amplifier is the correct system at a lower overall cost.
