We went through the official Sparco Martini Racing catalogue this week, and this page is the wearable half of it: the helmets, the race suit, the gloves, the boots, and the bags it all travels in. The short version of the range: everything here is standard Sparco equipment underneath, built in the Martini colours under official licence. The approvals are the same ones the plain versions carry, so you are choosing the stripes, and the papers come with them.

What the collection actually is
Martini’s stripes ran on Porsche and Lancia works cars through the seventies and eighties, and Sparco holds the official licence to build race equipment in them today. The catalogue is not a merchandise line with a helmet in it. The RF-5W underneath its livery is the same composite Snell-approved helmet Sparco sell in plain white, the Competition suit carries current FIA 8856-2018 papers, and the gloves and boots are homologated the same way.
That is the thing to hold onto through the whole range: the stripes are the choice, the equipment is standard Sparco, and the approvals are printed inside each piece the same as they always are.
The four helmets
Four lids in the range, and they split into two clear pairs: two composite competition helmets with FIA and Snell approvals, and two ECE 22-06 helmets for karting and track days at a fraction of the money.

The two competition helmets first. The Air Pro RF-5W is the full face: a fibreglass shell reinforced with carbon and Kevlar, serious ventilation, and it comes in the plain Martini colours or with the centre stripe. The RJ-i is the open face and the surprise of the range, because it comes with a professional intercom already fitted, a noise cancelling boom mic and Peltor compatible connections, which is why it costs more than the full face. If you are doing stage rallying or co-driving, that intercom would cost you a chunk on top of a plain helmet anyway.
The X-Pro and J-Pro are the accessible pair: proper ECE 22-06 helmets for indoor karting and track days in the same colours as the expensive ones. The X-Pro is the full face of the two, the J-Pro the open face with a glare peak. For events that require FIA or Snell papers they are the wrong tool, and the table above is the honest guide to which is which.

Competition race suit
The limited edition centrepiece. FIA 8856-2018, two layer, retro cut with the stripes across it, sizes 48 to 66. This is the suit from the catalogue cover.
Land Classic gloves 2026
Current FIA 8856-2018 and SFI papers in a period look: single panel aramid build with internal stitching and a suede palm. White, red or navy.
Martini boots
FIA 8856-2018 suede boots with the embroidered stripes down the side, lace plus velcro strap closure, in blue or white, UK 5.5 to 11.
The suit is the piece to be clear-eyed about. At £1,101.60 it costs proper race suit money, and what you are paying for over a plain two layer Sparco is the limited edition run and the retro cut. Nobody needs it. Plenty of people want it, and it is the best looking suit Sparco make. The gloves and boots are the easier decisions, because at £111.60 and £153.60 they cost about the same as the plain equivalents, so if the stripes are on the car anyway the extra spend is nearly nothing.

The mechanics suit and the bags
Two more pieces finish the range. The mechanics suit is a cotton and polyester replica of the overalls the Martini team crews wore in the eighties, with the elasticated waist and pocket layout done properly. It is workshop and paddock wear, it is £166.02, and it has quietly become the thing people buy as a present for the person who already owns everything else on this page.
The Stage and Super Stage rucksacks both come in the Martini design alongside their plain colours. The Super Stage is the bigger of the two with a padded laptop compartment and a lockable main zip; the Stage is the lighter everyday bag. Both are water resistant polyester and both carry the stripes on the front and the shoulder straps.

Which kit for which driver
The club racer or rally crew. RF-5W or RJ-i depending on open or closed car, the Competition suit, Land Classic gloves and the boots. Every piece carries current papers, and the whole set matches. If you run an FHR device, both competition helmets come with the posts already fitted.
The track day and karting driver. X-Pro or J-Pro, and honestly that is all you need to buy from this page. Both are proper ECE helmets in the same colours as the competition kit, so the photographs come out the same either way.
The garage. The mechanics suit and a Stage bag. No approvals to think about, and between them they are under £240.
The seats half of the range

Common questions
Are the Martini helmets the same as the plain Sparco ones underneath?
Yes. The RF-5W and RJ-i are Sparco's standard composite competition helmets and the X-Pro and J-Pro their standard ECE helmets, built in the licensed Martini colours. The approvals are identical to the plain versions.
Which helmet do I need for my event?
Check your event regulations first. Broadly, competition events require the FIA and Snell approved pair, and the ECE pair covers karting and most track days. If you are not sure what your championship requires, ring us with the series name before ordering.
Is the mechanics suit fireproof race wear?
It is a cotton and polyester replica of the original team overalls, made for the workshop and the paddock. The FIA approved garment in the range is the Competition race suit.
Do the competition helmets take an FHR device?
Both the RF-5W and the RJ-i come with the posts already fitted, so they are ready for an FHR device out of the box.
What sizes does the race suit come in?
48 through 66, which covers most builds. It is a limited edition, so if your size shows in stock and you are decided, order it. Sizes that sell out of a limited run do not usually come back.
