The Complete B-G and MOMO Autobianchi, Innocenti, NSU, Lada and Rolls Royce Steering Wheel Hub Guide

BG8026, the B-G hub for the Autobianchi A112 from 1972, is also the hub for the Lancia Stratos and the Lancia 037 rally car. The same casting fits the pocket hatchback and the world rally championship icon. It also covers thirteen Fiat 124 and 128 variants, because Autobianchi was a Fiat brand and the columns were shared. The Innocenti Spyder hub (BG8277) fits the Austin Healey Frogeye and Austin A40, because Innocenti built the Spyder under licence from Austin-Healey. The MOMO Lada hubs share a column specification with the Fiat 124 Berlina, because the Lada 2101 was built under licence from Fiat from 1970.

This guide covers Autobianchi, Innocenti, NSU, Lada and Rolls Royce together: 33 boss kits across B-G, MOMO and OMP. I am Cameron, and I look after the steering wheel side of things at GSM Performance.

The hub catalogue across five makes

An aftermarket wheel will not bolt onto the factory column on its own. The boss kit is the adaptor between the two, machined to match the spline count and column depth on your specific car. The table below maps every model across these five makes to its part number.

Green rows share a part code with other makes not listed in this guide.

On the Autobianchi A112, BG8026 (1972 onward) and BG8290 (pre-1972) are two different parts: the column changed with the facelift. MC4005, the MOMO hub for the Lada Niva and VAZ, is the same part as the MOMO hub for the Fiat 124 Berlina. OMP list a general Innocenti boss kit (OD1960IN43) alongside the Innocenti Mini 1000 specific kit (OD1960IN833). If your Innocenti is not a Mini 1000, contact us with the model and year before ordering.

Fitting a steering wheel hub

So how does a Sparco wheel end up on a B-G hub? Because almost every aftermarket motorsport wheel is drilled to the same bolt pattern: six bolts on a 70mm circle, written as 6 x 70mm PCD. MOMO, Sparco, OMP, Simoni Racing and the Mountney M-Range all use it. The hub is chosen by the car, the wheel is chosen by you, and neither brand has to match the other.

The B-G Racing hubs

Twenty-four B-G hubs across all five makes, all solid non-collapsible and dual drilled for both 6 x 70mm and 6 x 74mm. The Autobianchi A112 splits at 1972: BG8290 pre-facelift, BG8026 from 1972 onward. BG8026 is the same part as the Lancia Stratos and Lancia 037 hub, and it also covers thirteen Fiat 124 and 128 variants.

The Innocenti Spyder 950 and Spyder 1100 use BG8277, which also fits the Austin Healey Frogeye and Austin A40. Innocenti built that car under licence from Austin-Healey, so the column specification carried over. The late Innocenti models (Small 500, Mini 990, Mini 3 Cylinder) take BG8354, which also covers the Austin Princess, Marina, Ital and Allegro, because those Innocentis were rebadged Austins after British Leyland acquired the brand.

NSU is two parts: BG8331 covers the Prinz 4, Prinz 1100 and Prinz 10 variants, BG8332 covers the Prinz CS and Prinz 110 C. Five listings, two parts. For Rolls Royce, BG8341 covers the Silver Shadow from 1965 to 1969 and reappears on the Silver Spirit MK1 from 1980 to 1989. BG8342 is the Silver Shadow from 1969 to 1980.

The MOMO and OMP hubs

MOMO cover Lada only in this catalogue. MC4005 fits the Niva and VAZ (collapsible, 6 x 70mm only), MC5000 covers the Nova from 1980 to 2010. OMP cover four models across Innocenti and Lada: OD1960IN833 for the Mini 1000, OD1960IN43 for a general Innocenti fitment, OD1960LD820 for the Lada Samara, and OD1960LD880 for the Lada 100-111. All OMP hubs are solid non-collapsible.

For Autobianchi, NSU and Rolls Royce, the B-G range above covers everything.

Browse by brand

The buttons below link to the current range from each brand filtered by make, so they stay accurate as stock changes. NSU does not have a dedicated brand button: searching NSU on this site returns harness listings as well as boss kits, so any button would land on a mixed page. The NSU hubs are in the B-G section above. If your car is not listed or you are unsure which part to order, drop a note with the model and year and we will confirm before you spend anything.

Why not add a steering wheel quick release kit

A quick release sits between the hub and the wheel and lets you pull the wheel off the column in one action. On a competition car that is useful for access and security. On a stripped road car it makes getting over the sill easier when the wheel is not fighting you.

B-G Racing quick releaseFittingSuits
UniversalBolt-onMost road and track cars, nothing to modify
StandardBolt-onThe same job in the heavier duty version
Weld-On 3-PointWeld-onA column that is already being cut and welded
Weld-On 6-PointWeld-onAs above, with the stiffer six bolt fixing

All four take the same 6 x 70mm pattern as the boss kits on this page, so whichever hub and wheel you choose will work with any of these.

Pair your boss kit with a high performance steering wheel

Once the hub is sorted the wheel is your choice. For Autobianchi, Innocenti and NSU, the MOMO Heritage and Grand Prix ranges suit the vintage character of the cars. For the Rolls Royce end of the range, the wood rim options or OMP Trecento sit without looking out of place. These are the ones I would look at first.

Every wheel we sell is drilled 6 x 70mm, so any of them will bolt to any of the hubs above. The real decision is diameter and dish, which changes how heavy the steering feels and how close the rim sits to your chest.

Final thoughts

Thirty-three boss kits across five makes that most people would not put in the same bracket. What ties them together is shared engineering: Autobianchi was a Fiat brand, Innocenti built Austins under licence, the Lada was a Fiat 124, and NSU’s parent company eventually became Audi. The boss kit catalogue makes those connections visible in a way that model searches do not.

If you are not sure which part fits your car, or the listing you are looking at does not match the model name you know it by, drop us a line with the registration. I will confirm the right kit before you order anything.
