The Complete B-G and MOMO Isuzu Steering Wheel Hub Guide

Isuzu looks like a big range and behaves like a small one. I am Cameron, I look after the steering wheel side of things at GSM Performance.

There are sixteen B-G Isuzu listings, and between them they use exactly four part numbers. BG8059 covers eight cars on its own, BG8060 covers four, BG8061 covers three, and the D-Max has its own. Work out which of those four you are in and the rest of the page stops mattering.

That is unusually tidy for a make with this much variety in it, from the 117 Coupe and the Bellet through the Piazza to the Trooper and the D-Max.

The in-car photograph in this guide is an AI illustration, generated from our own OMP product photography so the wheel and its horn button are the real thing.

Why you need a B-G or MOMO boss kit

An aftermarket wheel will not bolt onto an Isuzu column on its own. The boss kit is the part that makes it possible, and it does three jobs at once.

It joins two different fittings

Your column has splines. The back of the wheel has a bolt pattern. The hub is the only part that speaks both.

It sets how far the wheel sits

The hub decides the distance from the dash, which changes your reach to the indicator stalks and the clearance over your knees.

Nothing else to buy

The fixing screws, the Allen key and the horn button retaining ring are all in the box, so nothing stops you halfway through the job.

Here is the whole B-G range in four lines. BG8059 fits the 117 Coupe, the Amigo, the Aska, the Bellet, the Gemini, the I-Mark, the Impulse and Impulse Turbo, and the Pup. BG8060 fits the Faster, the Pick-Up, the Trooper and the Truck, all 1988 to 2002. BG8061 fits the Campo, the Monterey and the Piazza. The 2003 to 2012 D-Max is BG8176 on its own, and it is the only collapsible one of the four.

If your Isuzu is not named above but sits in one of those families, ask us before you assume we cannot help.

Steering wheel installation explained

So how does a Sparco wheel end up on a MOMO hub? Because nearly every aftermarket motorsport wheel is drilled to the same pattern, six bolts on a 70mm circle, written as 6 x 70mm PCD. MOMO, Sparco, OMP, Simoni Racing and the Mountney M-Range all use it. The hub is chosen by your car, the wheel is chosen by you, and nothing locks you into one brand.

The Isuzu B-G boss kit range

Sixteen B-G Isuzu hubs, all at the same money and all dual drilled. Four distinct parts between them, which is why so many of these listings are interchangeable once you know the number.

Three of the four are a solid design. The D-Max on BG8176 is the exception and is collapsible.

The MOMO and OMP Isuzu hubs

MOMO list one Isuzu hub, MK7903 for the Rodeo, so the OMP parts sit alongside it here rather than leaving a single card on its own.

OMP add a combined Amigo and Bellet hub and a Monterey hub. Both are a solid, non collapsible design, which is what most track and competition cars run, and both are drilled 6 x 70mm.

The links below run a live search across the store, so they stay current as the range moves. Between the three brands there are nineteen Isuzu hubs. Several of these vehicles were sold here under Vauxhall or Holden badges, so if the Isuzu name is not finding it, ask and we will check the other listings.

Why not add a steering wheel quick release kit

A quick release sits between the boss kit and the wheel and lets you pull the wheel off the column in a second. Two reasons people fit them. Getting in and out past a fixed wheel in a caged car is awkward, and a wheel that comes off with you is a wheel nobody can drive away with.

B-G Racing quick releaseFittingSuits
UniversalBolt-onMost road and track cars, nothing to modify
StandardBolt-onThe same job in the heavier duty version
Weld-On 3-PointWeld-onA column that is already being cut and welded
Weld-On 6-PointWeld-onAs above, with the stiffer six bolt fixing

All four take the same 6 x 70mm wheels as everything else on this page, so the wheel you choose further down will fit whichever one you pick.

Pair your boss kit with a high performance steering wheel

Once the hub is sorted the wheel is entirely your choice. These are the ones I would put in an Isuzu, and the range splits fairly neatly between the trucks and the coupes.

In a Trooper, a Campo or a D-Max the Prototipo at 370mm gives you the leverage the slow steering wants, and the OMP Rally is the more practical rim if the truck actually works for a living. In a 117 Coupe or a Piazza go smaller, because those cars deserve something closer to the Montecarlo or the Sparco 345.

Every wheel we sell is drilled 6 x 70mm, so any of them will bolt to any of the hubs above. The only real decision is diameter and dish, which changes how heavy the steering feels and how close the rim sits to your chest.

Final thoughts

Isuzu is one of the easiest makes on the site once you stop reading the model names and start reading the part numbers. Four of them cover everything B-G list. The hub is cheap next to the wheel, and getting it right is a case of finding which of the four families your car sits in.

If you are not sure, drop us a line and ask for me. Send the registration over and I will tell you which hub you need before you spend anything.
