Microphone booms break. They stick out, they get caught taking the helmet off, and the wire inside a boom that has been bent too many times eventually goes intermittent, which is worse than it failing outright because you spend a stage wondering whether it is you or the amplifier.
Replacing the boom is a great deal cheaper than replacing the helmet, and it brings the audio back to where it was.
What it fits
It is made for the Prime RJ-i Supercarbon and the finish is carbon to match. Check your helmet model before you order, because intercom parts are cut to the shell and one that nearly fits will sit at the wrong angle to your mouth, which is exactly the problem you are trying to solve.
While you are at it
If the boom has gone, it is worth checking the speakers and the lead at the same time. Intercom faults are usually connectors and cables rather than the electronics, and a system that has done a few seasons often needs more than one part.
