Bell’s Eyeport Foam Tape (BEL2080002) is a set of two self-adhesive foam strips that replace the foam seal around the visor aperture on Bell helmets that use this type of construction. The tape meets the same safety standard as the foam fitted at manufacture, which matters for helmets used in competition where helmet specifications are subject to scrutineering.
The eyeport foam performs two functions: it seals the gap between the visor and the shell to prevent fumes and dirt from entering around the aperture frame, and it provides a soft contact surface against the balaclava. Over time the foam compresses and can pull away from the shell; replacing it restores both the seal and the comfort of the contact around the eyebrow area.
This tape is used on Bell helmets that employ the eyeport foam design, typically the older GP3, HP5 and Star Classic series. More recent helmet models use a different seal approach and this tape does not apply. If you are unsure whether your helmet uses eyeport foam or a different seal type, check the edge of the visor aperture: if there is a separate foam bead rather than a moulded rubber gasket, this is the product you need.
