The OMP ARP-X karting shoe, homologated to FIA 8877-2022 and waterproofed. Part number OMPKC0-0835-A01-071.

The waterproofing is the reason to buy these

Most kart boots are not waterproofed. That is fine until a wet qualifying session, after which you have cold wet feet for the rest of the day and a damp boot for the next event. Anyone who karts in this country knows exactly what that is like.

The ARP-X solves that specifically, and it is unusual in doing so.

Without wrecking pedal feel

Which is the difficult part, because waterproof membranes usually mean a thicker sole. OMP have kept the insole thinner than most kart boots so you still feel the pedals through it. High grip soles for the walk to the grid, and a dual Velcro closure above the ankle.

The approval

FIA 8877-2022 is the current karting footwear standard, covering fire resistance. If your series requires homologated footwear, this satisfies it.

Tell us the series you are running and we will confirm against the current regulations, because karting rules vary more between organisers than people expect.

Kart boots should be snug. Tell us your usual size and we will advise.

What size should I order?
Sizes run from UK 5.5 | EU 39 up to UK 13 | EU 48. Kart boots fit close like race boots, so most drivers take their normal trainer size. If you are between sizes or wear a wide fit, ask us before ordering.

Are they legal for competition karting?
These boots are homologated to FIA 8877-2022, the current FIA karting standard, which is what scrutineers look for in championship karting.

Why the thin sole and high ankle?
The thin sole gives you pedal feel, and the high cut protects and supports the ankle, which sits exposed next to the bodywork in a kart. It is also why kart boots make poor walking shoes, so keep them for driving.

OMP splits between showroom stock and imports

What we hold in the showroom can leave the next working day. The rest arrives on our regular imports from OMP in Italy, normally inside a couple of weeks.

Check the exact item

The OMP range is far too broad for a single lead time to be honest about, so tell us the part and the size and we will confirm where it stands.
