The full 2023 Alpinestars karting boot collection is now on our website, with two new boots and new colours across the range.
The new pair are the Tech 1-KX V2 and the Tech 1-KZ V2. Both are very light, use a seam-free thermo-welded construction and have a thin F1-derived rubber sole for grip and feel on the pedals.

The Tech 1-KX V2
The Tech 1-KX V2 combines ideas from Alpinestars' F1 boots with details made for karting. The upper is a seam-free, thermo-welded build of ultra-thin PU film and 3D mesh, which makes it noticeably lighter than the previous model. Laser-cut vents let the foot breathe, so it stays cooler on a hot day.
The fit comes from a speed lace and wire closure with a hook and loop ankle strap, which wraps the foot closely. A low rear collar in soft microfibre and foam is kind to the Achilles and leaves the ankle free to move.
The Tech 1-KZ V2
The Tech 1-KZ is the flagship of Alpinestars' kart boots, and the V2 has been redesigned for comfort and lower weight. It uses flat knitting to shape the boot around the foot, with a seam-free thermo-welded outer of PU film and textile.
It closes differently from the KX: a dual ankle strap and a hidden instep lacing system. Laser-cut vents and textile side panels move air through the boot, and there is a reinforced toe inside for protection against knocks.
The rest of the range, and approvals
The existing boots carry over with new colours for 2023. The Tech 1-K Start V2, the most affordable of the three, now comes in a black, white and red combination. It has a microfibre upper, a perforated lining for airflow, a lace and strap closure and an ultra-thin rubber sole.
None of these Alpinestars kart boots are FIA approved, so they cannot be used where a championship asks for FIA homologated footwear. For club karting, practice and leisure karting they are the right tool. Garreth’s advice is to check your series regulations before buying if you are unsure.
