The Alpinestars ZX Evo V3 Long Sleeve Top, SKU 475-0325, is an FIA 8856-2018 and SFI 3.3 certified fire-resistant underwear top developed to a specification described by Alpinestars as F1-level. It is the premium underwear top in the Alpinestars range and uses materials selected specifically for their heat transfer performance rather than just their fire resistance classification.
The key material is LENZING FR viscose, a fire-resistant cellulosic fibre that performs differently from Aramidic and para-aramid underwear in how it manages heat. Where conventional fire-resistant underwear reduces the rate of heat transfer by providing a barrier, the LENZING FR construction in the ZX Evo V3 actively moderates the temperature at the surface facing the driver’s skin. This distinction is most apparent during a sustained stint at high ambient temperatures, where the difference between a barrier approach and a thermal regulation approach becomes measurable in core temperature and associated fatigue.
The cut is close without being restrictive, with a cuff that is long enough to tuck inside the glove cuff and a hem that stays tucked in under the harness without a stay.
