The ZX Evo V3 Bottom (475-0425) is Alpinestars’ current premium race underwear bottom, sitting above the Race V3 in the range. Both carry FIA 8856-2018 and SFI 3.3 approval; the difference is in how they are built.
Where the Race V3 uses standard two-layer construction, the ZX Evo V3 is made from LENZING FR viscose fibres woven into a diamond jacquard mesh. The diamond pattern is not decorative. The structured weave increases air movement through the fabric without opening gaps in the fire resistance. LENZING FR is a natural-fibre viscose with inherent flame resistance; a treated synthetic loses that property in the wash, this does not.
The body is knitted as a single tubular piece, which removes the side seams that create pressure ridges under a tight race suit. At the waistband, flat seams replace bulkier construction. In a car where you sit still for an hour or more, these details register.
Sizing runs XS-S, M-L, and XL-XXL in paired bands. If you fall between two measurements within a pair, try the smaller first; the fabric has enough stretch to accommodate without excess material gathering at the knees.
