The OMP race suit bag, a lightweight full zip bag for a suit and the kit that goes with it. Part number OMPX00-693-SUIT.

What it is for

Keeping a race suit together and off the floor of a van. A suit that lives loose in a car boot arrives creased, picks up oil, and ends up with the underwear and gloves scattered through the vehicle.

Large opening with a full zip, so it takes the suit, boots, gloves, underwear and balaclava in one go. That matters at scrutineering, when you may be asked to show the lot.

A practical note on storing racewear

Nomex does not like being stored damp. If the suit went in wet, get it out and hang it when you get home rather than leaving it zipped in the bag until the next event. This bag is for transport, not long term storage.

What fits in it?
It is shaped for a race or kart suit kept flat or folded once, which keeps the suit presentable and the fireproof layers uncreased between events. Most drivers keep underwear and gloves in with it too.

Is it worth a dedicated kit bag over a normal holdall?
The difference is compartments and padding in the right places: wet and dry separation, boot pockets that keep tarmac dust off your suit, and padded sections where they matter. A normal holdall works until the first time a buckle rubs a hole in fireproof fabric.

How do I look after it?
Brush it out and wipe it down rather than machine washing, and let it dry open after a wet weekend. Zips last longest if you close them before storage.
