The Sparco RW-11 Long Johns are the latest in Sparco’s range of motorsport underwear and have been manufactured using the very lightest, but most fire-retardant material, allowing for the RW-11 to achieve the highest levels of heat and flame protection, whilst not weighing you down. The RW-11 Long Johns surpass the stringent FIA 8856-2018 and SFI 3.3 approvals, meaning they can be worn for all motorsport purposes, whether it’s track days, saloon racing or drag racing.

The Sparco RW-11 Evo long johns are constructed using a breathable seamless material, designed to eliminate pressure points and increase levels of comfort, whilst also reducing fatigue. The material used for the RW-11 Evo is treated with Sparco’s patented “X-Cool Silver treatment” which provides a cooling sensation on the skin. The treatment is ideal for when things get a bit heated as it cools you down, but it also has anti-bacterial properties to reduce odors.

Do I actually need FIA underwear?
If your championship requires it, this is the layer scrutineers ask about, and it is strongly recommended under any suit regardless. These garments are homologated to FIA 8856-2018, the current FIA standard, so the label is there when scrutineers ask for it. They also carry SFI 3.3 approval for events run to American SFI rules. What size should I go for?
Sizes run from XS to XXXL. Underwear layers should sit close to the skin without pinching, as loose fabric wrinkles under the suit and gets uncomfortable fast. Between sizes, take the smaller one for a base layer.

How do I wash it?
Underwear layers are the one bit of racewear you should wash after every use: cool and gentle, no bleach or fabric softener, air dry. That keeps the suit itself needing far fewer washes. Full routine in our racewear care guide.
