The Sabelt weld-on quick-release hub, part number RFMO0002. The male section of the hub welds permanently to the steering column. The column spline is removed and the quick-release plate takes its place as the fixed point, giving a stiffer and more rigid installation than a bolt-on equivalent over the life of the car.

Weld-on installation is the standard approach in dedicated competition cars: touring cars, rally cars and any build where the steering column is not shared with road use. The welded joint eliminates the slight rotational play that can develop in bolt-on setups under repeated lateral loads through a season of events. Once installed correctly, the only moving part is the quick-release mechanism itself.

The female plate on the steering wheel side is CNC-machined with precision-cut splines and a master spline. The master spline indexes the wheel to the same rotational position every time it is refitted, so the straight-ahead position is consistent across sessions. The 6-bolt, 70mm PCD mounting pattern is compatible with Sabelt SW-range wheels and with 6-bolt wheels from MOMO, Sparco and OMP.

FIA-compliant for touring and rally competition use. CNC-machined aluminium with a hard-anodised finish. The centre is clear for wiring if the steering wheel carries switches or buttons.

This is a permanent column modification. Once the male section is welded, the column cannot easily be returned to spline use. If the car needs to retain road use functionality or if column modification is not feasible, the bolt-on version (SABM220SR6GRN) bolts to an existing 6-bolt hub adaptor without permanent changes.
