Visor tear offs for Sparco RF and KF helmets. Part number SPA00315K01.
Tear offs are thin clear films that stud onto the visor. When the outer one is covered in oil, rubber or mud, you pull it off at the end of a straight and you have a clean view again without stopping. In rallying, in karting on a wet day, or in any race where you are following someone closely, they are the difference between seeing and guessing.
Why not just wipe it
Because what lands on a visor is usually oil or rubber, and wiping smears it across the whole screen. Worse, wiping a visor with a glove scratches it, and a scratched visor scatters light at night and in low sun. A tear off takes the damage instead of the visor.
Fitting
They stud onto the posts on the visor. Check your helmet has them, and check the tear offs are for an RF or KF shell before you order, because tear off sizing is model specific and one that nearly fits will lift at speed.
Fit them in the garage rather than on the grid. Getting the alignment right takes a minute and doing it in a hurry with gloves on is how they end up crooked.
Buy more than you think you need. They are consumable by design.
