A six-person waterproof intercom with VHF radio connection for offshore racing, part number DB0202.
Six Stilo Nexus helmet connections cover the largest race crews. VHF radio integration means shore communication routes through the intercom wiring loom rather than via a separate push-to-talk handheld: all six crew members can hear VHF traffic through their helmets, and the PTT button on the case controls when the boat transmits back. Volume is adjustable on the unit to balance intercom and radio levels to the crew’s preference.
The housing is fully watertight. The unit runs off the boat’s power supply, not batteries, so there is no concern about losing communication on a long offshore leg because of a flat battery.
Compared to the DB0203 (four-way with VHF and Bluetooth), the DB0202 gives two more helmet connections but no Bluetooth capability. If you are connecting six or more crew and need VHF radio, this is the specific unit for it. Smaller crews with a VHF requirement should look at the DB0203 for its Bluetooth capability at a similar price point.
