A customer ordered a Stilo Venti Trophy helmet and a Stilo WRC 03 intercom in the same basket. Both are Stilo and both are made for rally, but the two will not talk to each other. The Venti Trophy carries Stilo’s older Trophy electronics, the WRC 03 speaks the WRC system, and Stilo does not make an adaptor between them.
What that customer needed was the Venti4 Trophy Plus, which has the WRC electronics fitted and a Nexus plug to match. It is an easy mistake, because the names overlap: Trophy and Trophy Plus sound like one family, and they are two. This page lines up every Stilo rally helmet against every Stilo intercom we list. It follows Stilo’s own compatibility chart, and the prices come from our live listings.
Stilo makes two families of rally electronics. Trophy is the older, cheaper one, and it only connects the Trophy 2 Intercom amplifier to the Venti Trophy Rally Helmet and Trophy DES Rally Helmet – XXL helmets.
Everything else with an intercom fitted, including every Trophy Plus helmet, runs WRC electronics and works with the WRC 03, the WRC DES 9V and the DG amplifiers. Wireless is a third route: the DG WL-10 Wireless Digital Intercom Amplifier with a WL Key in each helmet, and only on helmets built to take the key.
The answer appears here.
Cameron sees the same mix-up every month, and it is nearly always the word Plus. This is how the names sort out.
Helmets are on the left and intercoms on the right. The coloured boxes in the middle are the electronics each side uses, and two things that reach the same box connect. The Trophy box stands on its own, and that gap is the one that catches people out.
Hover or tab to a helmet and its connections light up.
The map needs a wider screen. On a phone, use the checker at the top of the page or the table below, which give the same answers.
The map and the table say the same thing. Use the table when you want to check a pair by eye, and scroll sideways on a phone.

What each helmet works with, and the versions we list. The coloured tags are the intercoms it connects to, and a tag with a question mark means we confirm that pairing before you order.

Trophy electronics. FIA 8859-2015 and Snell SA2020.

Trophy electronics. XXL only, FIA 8859-2015 and Snell SA2015.

Open face with an intercom fitted. Stilo puts the Sport range on its wired DG and WRC list.

WRC electronics, ready for the WL Key. FIA 8859-2015 and Snell SA2020.

Stilo kit AE0121, wired and WL. FIA 8859-2024 and Snell SA2025.

Rally build has speakers and a Nexus plug, built around the WL Key.

Rally build with speakers for the Nexus amplifier range.

Rally build takes wired WRC and DG amplifiers or the WL Key.

Full face rally helmet. Stilo's chart shows the ST5R generation; dealer lists carry the ST6R on WRC electronics.

Earlier generation. These listings are circuit builds with a microphone and earplug sockets, and no speakers.
The same view from the other side. Each amplifier lists the helmets that connect to it, plus anything extra it needs. If you want the feature rundown across the digital range, our rally and track intercom comparison covers it.

9V battery, or 12V with the adaptor. Entry level, for clubman and Group N rally cars.
Works with

Analogue WRC electronics on a 9V battery, with a camera output. Stilo designs it for the Trophy Plus, WRC and ST5 rally helmets.
Works with

The WRC 03 circuit plus a switchable extra noise filter, with battery or 12V power.
Works with

The first Stilo digital amplifier, with Bluetooth. Not on Stilo's 2025 chart, but dealers list it on the same WRC electronics.
Works with

Digital, built for rally raid, with female Nexus sockets. The AC0204.2 lead is needed and is not in the box.
Works with

Dual-filter digital, with Bluetooth and USB-C updates. Choose the connector that matches your helmet.
Works with

The off-road DG-20, without Bluetooth, with female sockets in the casing. Some helmets need the AC0204.2 lead.
Works with

Top of the range: digital with an analogue backup. The helmet cable and power loom are sold separately.
Works with

The DG-10 audio with no cable to the helmet. Needs a WL Key in each helmet, sold separately.
Works with
Headsets and the kits that fit inside a helmet follow the same split. A Trophy kit goes with the Trophy 2, and a WRC kit goes with everything else. The adaptors are for mixing in other brands, or for the Raid amplifiers.

Take the example from the top: a Venti Trophy Rally and a WRC 03. There are two ways out, and each is a single change.
Swap the WRC 03 for the Trophy 2 Intercom at £100.80. It is the cheapest fix, and the pair then works.
Move to a Trophy Plus helmet such as the Venti4 Trophy Plus Rally Helmet, from £604.69, and keep the WRC 03 Intercom at £204.00.
A Jet helmet with no intercom is the easiest case, because you choose the kit to match the amplifier: the Trophy kit for a Trophy 2, and the Plus or WRC kit for everything else.
Cameron says buy WRC from day one. The Trophy 2 only talks to Trophy Rally helmets, nothing in Stilo’s range bridges the gap, and if the car gets louder or faster you replace the helmet as well as the amplifier. The Venti4 Trophy Plus also carries the newer FIA 8859-2024 and Snell SA2025 approvals.
Garreth says a club car does not need it. Our listing describes the Trophy 2 as the clubman and Group N choice for quieter cars, and the Trophy pair comes to £542.40 against £808.69 for the WRC pair. That is £266.29 you can spend on tyres, and for three rallies a year in a quiet car he will sell the Trophy pair and not lose sleep.
Where we agree: never mix the two families, and if you are not sure which one you already own, ring us before you buy anything else.
Three pairings from the guide, with the totals worked out from the live prices. Each one is a helmet and an amplifier, so add a second helmet for the co-driver.
Stilo's entry level, and the cheapest working pair.
Current approvals and the whole WRC range open to you later.
A digital amplifier with dual filters, on the WRC helmet platform.
No. The Venti Trophy Rally uses Trophy electronics and the WRC 03 uses WRC electronics. Stilo does not make an adaptor between the two. A Trophy Plus helmet, such as the Venti4 Trophy Plus, works with the WRC 03.
Yes. The Venti4 Trophy Plus carries Stilo's WRC rally kit, which Stilo says works with wired and wireless WRC connections. Choose the DG-20 connector that matches your helmet, or ask us which one to order.
No. Stilo says the Trophy 2 is not compatible with Trophy Plus, WRC or ST5 helmets. It is built for the Trophy Rally helmets only.
Not from Stilo, and the dealers we checked say the same. You change one side so that the helmet and the amplifier are on the same electronics.
The ones built to take a WL Key: the Venti WRC, Venti4 WRC and Trophy Plus helmets, and the WRX range. Each helmet needs its own key, sold separately.
Often, with an adaptor lead. The Stilo AC0200 connects Peltor, Sparco and some Bell helmets to the WRC and DG range, and it does not work with the Trophy 2. Tell us the helmet and the amplifier and we confirm the lead.
Those are built for team radio through earplug sockets, not a rally intercom, so we check each one before pairing it with an amplifier. Drop us an email or click to open a chat with the helmet you have.
Two questions settle almost every case: which electronics does the helmet carry, and which does the amplifier use. If both say Trophy, or both say WRC, they connect. If one of each, they do not, and no lead fixes it.
Ring us on 0115 647 8650 with the helmet and the amplifier you are looking at and Garreth or Cameron will check the pair, or come in and try the helmets in the showroom.
