The BGR706 is B-G Racing’s motorsport-grade bolt-on quick release, finished in black anodising and yellow powder coat. It sits between the steering wheel and the boss kit and brings the wheel approximately 50mm closer to the driver.
At 440g and 82mm in diameter, it is more compact and lighter than the BG4921 Universal Quick Release. That matters in a race car: the BGR706 has less mass away from the column, and the 82mm body leaves more room around the hub in tight cockpits.
The system uses a 6x70mm PCD bolt pattern only. That covers most Momo, Sparco and OMP competition wheels but does not cover Nardi, Personal or other wheels using a 6x74mm pattern. If your wheel uses the 74mm pitch, the BG4921 Universal Quick Release is the right unit as it is multi-drilled for both patterns.
A master spline positioned at the centre of the shaft gives the wheel the same angular position every time you engage it. On a car with a roll cage or a fixed seat where getting in and out is already an effort, being able to re-fit the wheel quickly and know it is straight without looking down is worth having.
The BGR706 is bolt-on rather than weld-on and requires a car-specific steering wheel boss kit to connect to the steering column. If you need a quick release that conforms to current FIA technical regulations, the B-G weld-on range is what to look at instead. A 12-month warranty covers the unit against manufacturing faults.
We hold B-G Racing accessories in our Nottingham warehouse; lead time is typically 1-3 working days.
