Sparco knee pads, sold as a pair. Part number SPA00156.
Padding with elastic bands at the top and bottom of each pad to keep them where you put them, made to absorb impacts and protect your knees.
The obvious use is mechanics work. Kneeling on a garage floor, on gravel in a service park, or on the edge of a trailer ramp is what wears knees out, and a pair of these is a great deal cheaper than the physiotherapy. If you spend any real time working on a car, they pay for themselves in comfort within a week.
In the car
Karting is the other place they turn up. A kart cockpit is narrow and your knees are against the sides or under the steering column through every corner, and over a race distance that leaves bruises. Junior drivers feel it most.
Some off road and rally disciplines use them too, for the same reason.
Fitting
They pull on and the elastics hold them. Whether you wear them under or over a suit depends on preference and on your regulations, which is worth checking if you are competing rather than practising.
Black, one pair per order. Matching elbow pads are available separately, and most people who buy one end up wanting both.
