A visor locking kit for all Stilo ST5 helmets, part number SLOYA0818.
The ST5 supports a two-position visor lock, and this kit is what provides the second position. With it fitted, the visor can be held closed or locked at an intermediate position. The intermediate position is useful in convertible or open-top cars where a fully closed visor would restrict airflow but fully open leaves the eyes exposed to debris.
There is one case where this kit is essential rather than optional: the ST5 GT helmet is configured without a full-face visor as standard. If an ST5 GT driver wants to fit a full visor, this locking system is required first. Without it, the visor has no secondary lock point and will not hold position under cornering or on rough ground.
The kit installs using the existing pivot points on the helmet, no specialist tools needed. It is a straightforward addition. If you are fitting a new visor at the same time, the ST5 GT visor (SLOYA0816) in dark tint is the one most drivers choose alongside this kit.
